Alex and Luke's Wedding at New Hall Hotel!
Alex and Luke got married on Friday 8th October 2021 at one of my all-time favourite wedding venues - New Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield! It was a gorgeous day for a wedding at this historic, charming venue and I was very excited to start the preparations with Alex’s wonderful bridal party!
Steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful gardens (New Hall Hotel is reputed to be the oldest listed inhabited moated house in England!) - it is a truly stunning wedding venue all year round but in October the vibrancy of the autumn colours mixed with the medieval architecture makes it really magical, especially when you have an incredible wedding photographer like Archie from Bowl of Corks to capture the perfect images!
I arrived at New Hall Hotel at 6.45am on the wedding morning to set up and style hair and make up for the bridal party. Alex had booked hair and make up for three bridesmaids, the Mother of the bride and the bride herself for hair and make up - all to be ready by 2pm for Alex and Luke’s ceremony in The Great Chamber, New Hall Hotel’s picture perfect period ceremony room with oak panelled walls, painted ceiling and pretty windows!
I loved every moment spent at New Hall styling everyone’s hair and make up and was so glad I got to be part of this special wedding!
Alex’s bridal make up look was natural glam with peachy tones on the eyes, which I created using the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, and for Alex’s bridal hair I created a half up do with a braid - the relaxed vibes of this style complimenting her dress perfectly.

Alex and Luke’s stunning wedding cake was created by Cakes a Daisy in Cannock and the beautiful bouquet and flowers were by Clare Handsaker who I’ve worked with on lots of weddings with this year - it’s always a pleasure to see her beautiful work! I would highly recommend all of the above wedding suppliers for any future brides and grooms in Sutton Coldfield :)
I would also love to mention how friendly, helpful and generally amazing the staff are at New Hall Hotel - every time I visit to style hair and make up for a wedding they help to carry my (very heavy!) kit and make up chairs up to the bridal suites - this is always appreciated and I feel deserves a special mention!
